Thyroid + Stomach Health

Having terrible stomach health can down right ruin your day, even your life it seems.

Battling constipation, bloating, pain, embrassing gas, not feeling well overall, the feeling of poop being stuck in you, or getting painful hemorrhoids from the constipatuon even, are all so miserable to deal with.

I know first hand. I remember a few years after I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism my favorite snack to eat at night as I watch some TV was raw almonds dipped in peanut butter.
Little did I know at the time that I was basically feeding myself a nuclear stomach bomb per say, then I would wonder why within 30 minutes of eating it I had the worst stomach pain, and would wind up sitting on and off the toilet for hours, yet not even going to the bathroom.

It took me about a year of doing this to myself literally every night to realize that this problem was self-induced, so I stopped eating it, but it seemed like even though I stopped eating the almonds and peanut butter I was still having stomach problems within 30 minutes after eating my dinner every single night.

I couldn’t figure out what food exactly was causing this, because it seems like it happened no matter what I ate

It was so frustrating and miserable to endure and it highly affected my family time, sex life and relationship.

If any of this resonates with you then please keep reading.

Yes, gut health is a foundation of your over all health, and caring for your digestive system is very important.

But today I’d like to focus on your stomach.

When your stomach acids are out of balance then various gut health issues can occur?

But first, Id like you to understand that your stomach is made up of 7 different stomach juices, enzymes and micro trace minerals salts (not table salts, mineral salts)

Let’s talk about the most important & popular stomach acid, Hydrochloric acid. (HCL)

Most of everyone is struggling from low to no HCL (obvy I was big time)

When this acid becomes low and weakened, non existent or replaced with bad acids, many symptoms begin to occur.

See your hydrochloric acid is the main balancer of all of our gastric acids. It is created and produced from with in our stomach glands

Reasons this acid get weakened are:

Stress

Sluggish, prefatty or fatty liver and the big one

ADRENALINE

When your always in a negative emotional state and feeling stressed and upset, you are releasing adrenaline of some sort

The constant day in and day out of anger, fear, anxiety, guilt, shame, depression, or hatred slowly depletes your stomach of this crucial acid (HCL) and your ability to digest your food. This low to no HCL then makes it possible for bad bacteria to over grow inside your intestines

Other reasons your HCL gets damaged are from:

Prescription drugs

Antibiotics

Immunosuppressants

Antifunguls

Tylenol

And many other drugs that harm the stomach

Also overeating high protein foods like:

Meat

Nuts (nut butters)

Seeds

Dairy

Legumes

(Protein from greens, sprouts, or veggies does not apply)

You may be a little surprised by this list but it totally makes sense, see what happens when you OVER CONSUME these types of foods is it requires a-lot of work for your stomach to digest and break them down, initially “burning out” your HCL reserves.

You know if you have low HCL if you have:

Bloating

Stomach Discomfort

Constipation

Sluggishness

Fatigue

(This was SO me)

There are many ways to rebuild and maintain your HCL and stomach health again (it takes time, it’s not a overnight thing)

But I can share that the fastest way to rebuild your HCL and clear out those uncomfortable symptoms is to drink 16 ounces of fresh celery juice on a empty stomach every morning

Adding in this 1 tool into my morning brought me SO MUCH relief from my bloating, digestion, constipation and overall daily discomfort, it was like magic

For more information on how to properly prepare and drink celery juice daily go to my Youtube page Coach Sarah Joy and check out some videos Ive made.
