Your Doctor Doesn’t Believe You. Your Lab’s Are In Range But You Are Far From Fine. Now What?

As a health coach, I have seen many women who feel frustrated, desperate, and gaslighted by their doctors. These women are often dismissed or told that their symptoms are not serious, even though they are struggling with chronic fatigue, brain fog, and other debilitating symptoms. If this sounds familiar, you are not alone. I have been there too and I know how it feels to be medically gaslighted.

During one of my doctor's appointments, I was feeling terrible, and I was hoping to get some answers. I had been struggling with chronic fatigue, brain fog, and other symptoms that were interfering with my daily life. However, when the doctor checked my test results, they said that everything looked fine. I was dumbfounded and confused. I knew that something was wrong, but the doctor didn't seem to believe me.

If you have experienced this type of medical gaslighting, you know how frustrating it can be. You feel like you are not being heard or taken seriously. You feel helpless and alone. But, there is hope. You don't have to continue suffering in silence. You can take control of your health and find the answers you need.

One of the first things you need to understand is that it's not entirely the doctor's fault. The TSH ranges that have been established are often incorrect. Many doctors use outdated reference ranges, which can lead to misdiagnosis and undertreatment of thyroid conditions. According to Dr. Izabella Wentz, "when scientists first set the “normal” ranges of TSH for healthy individuals, they inadvertently included elderly patients and others with compromised thyroid function in the calculations leading to an overly lax reference range."

Another problem with the medical system is that it is not set up to help people get better. The focus is often on treating symptoms rather than addressing the root cause of the problem. This means that many doctors are quick to prescribe medication, therapy, surgery, radiation treatment, and other procedures without looking for the underlying causes of the patient's symptoms.

But, there is hope. As a health coach, I have seen many women who have been able to take control of their health and find the answers they need. One of the first things you can do is to find a doctor who is willing to listen to you and take your symptoms seriously. If your doctor is dismissive or uncooperative, don't be afraid to seek a second opinion.

Another option is to order your own lab tests. You don't need a doctor to pull labs. You can order and pay for the labs you need at your local lab. These tests are processed with a debit or credit card payment, rather than through insurance. This means that you can get the tests you need without going through insurance hoops. Once you get your results, you can take them to your doctor for further interpretation.

In addition to standard lab tests, I also offer deeper testing called a Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis test. This test can help you find and fix the root cause of your symptoms, rather than just masking them with medication.

In the end, I don't want to see any women continue to suffer through these soul-shattering  and directionless appointments. It's time for you to try something new and take control of your health. If you're ready to find your health answers and take control of your life, book a free discovery call with me today.
